Dear Mega Home Fans,
We want to keep you up to date with news and stories about the competition and we like you to read about it here first.
We thought that we would give all of you a chance to win a Fortnum and Mason Hamper this Christmas. Simply click the link below to see the quiz and send us your answer and email address.
Entries will be entered into the Hamper draw on 30th November.
(We now have a winner from the draw, and the quiz will continue until the 31st December)
In our capacity as promoters of the competition we have agreed to provide £3000 support to Vision Aid to sponsor Eleanor who is a qualified Optometrist as part of a working group visiting Ghana for 2 weeks early in 2019. Eleanor and her team will be providing hundreds of people with prescription glasses and medical treatments to improve their eye care and vision. This will be supported with training of specialists on the ground and lecturing at the local University. Eleanor is continuing her post graduation studies at the Eye Academy in Windsor and developing specialisms in several clinical areas.
As owners of the property we have acquired a substantial stock of top quality feminine hygiene products to distribute to schools in need. We are alarmed to hear of young girls missing school time because of the costs of this essential necessity.
We will be inviting local schools in Dorset and Hampshire to come and visit us to stock up for 2019. The date is yet to be arranged and we will keep you posted. Clearly this does not impact on the potential prize as it is funded by ourselves.
We are very pleased to see that so many people are purchasing tickets as Christmas gifts. We have received a lot of comments on this and a substantial number of existing ticket holders have been coming back and buying more too. We are getting closer and closer to committing the house and every additional ticket helps but much will depend upon a really good December as we know many people are holding back.
We caution against leaving buying tickets too late as our ticketing system was overloaded with the last Mail On Line article when sales of over 10,000 tickets sales caused the email confirmation system to crash. Whilst everyone did receive their tickets - the back log took a few days to clear as a result of the demand.
A Christmas video is planned and tree arrivals start next week so watch this space. In the meantime we hope that you enjoy an article about the history of Avon Place.
Best wishes and Good luck with the competition

Behind the doors of the Mega Home that everyone is talking about
A couple raffling their £3m dream house have opened their photo album to demonstrate what a wonderful family home it is.
The deadline for the raffle is on the last day of December and Mark and Sharon Beresford want another family to enjoy it as they have.
So they have dug out photos from over the years hoping to inspire more people to buy a £25 ticket.
The couple bought the plot 12 years ago and built a luxury Huf Haus on the elevated riverside position on the Hampshire/Dorset border near Ringwood.
The original advert Mark Beresford saw. They demolished the bungalow.
Initially they planned on selling it but having moved in they fell in love with it and decided to stay.
But with their three children having flown the nest and planning a move to Sussex to live near family, the couple tried selling their home.
Stamp duty made it difficult so they instead decided to raffle it.
The couple brought up their three children Eleanor, now 27, Amelia, now 26, and Max, now 23, in the property that has won awards.
The German Huf Haus comes ready-made in pieces and they all are slotted together – a process that the family watched.
The property has six bedrooms over three floors and it also includes a cinema and snooker room.
Mark said: “We had intended to sell the house but after moving in we fell in love with it and the children adored it so we stayed.
“It’s been a wonderful family home; it’s great for entertaining and we have some amazing parties here.

“It comes with fishing rights and there is a huge amount of wildlife; it’s like living in a treehouse."
“It has been our refuge from the city and the factories I’ve been around – clean air and wonderful views.
“There are six bedrooms over three floors and we’ve had a lot of fun on the river.
“Now our children have left home it is too big for us and we are moving to be nearer to Sharon’s family.
“Some people don’t believe this is a genuine offer but is really is.
“We want to show people how much pleasure and enjoyment we’ve had living here by digging out our pictures of when it was built and how we’ve enjoyed it.
“And if you don’t win the house, the second prize is a brand new Aston Martin.”
