Win a Mega Home - the competition where one lucky winner will win Avon Place, a stylish and contemporary six-bedroom Huf Haus in Avon Castle, Hampshire, has selected the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund as its nominated charity.
The RAF Benevolent Fund, which will celebrate its centenary next year, has partnered with Win a Mega Home to help promote it's competition to win the luxurious £3m property.
Donations to the charity, which supports retired servicemen and women, serving RAF personnel and their families, will be raised through ticket sales generated by the RAF Benevolent Fund. A percentage from the tickets purchased through the Fund’s unique affiliate code will be donated to the charity with the aim of raising £30,000 at the end of the competition in December. If by the end of the competition the target is not met, Win A Mega Home will contribute to the donation to ensure that the total is achieved.
Commenting on the partnership, Mark Beresford, director of Win a Mega Home, said: “We are delighted to have chosen the RAF Benevolent Fund as our nominated charity. The money raised will help them care for forces families, serving personnel and veterans who need help with a range of issues including funeral costs, debt, housing, mobility problems and medical care, and help train others to support them.”
Claire Hall, Head of Fundraising Partnerships at the RAF Benevolent Fund, said: “As a charity which receives no regular government funding, we are thrilled Mark and his team have chosen to support the RAF Benevolent Fund with this exciting project.
“The RAF Benevolent Fund has stood side by side with the RAF for almost 100 years, ensuring the RAF Family of serving personnel, retired veterans and their families do not face adversity alone. Whether that’s providing a youth support scheme for children living on RAF stations, re-training for a young veteran adjusting to life after injury or care costs to enable elderly veterans to enjoy their retirement in dignity and comfort; we are always there. We simply could not do this vital welfare work without the generous support of projects like this.”
The competition to win Avon Place has received extensive engagement on social media and within the press since its launch in March. One lucky winner will not only be able to call this superb state-of-the-art property their home but also included in the prize is all fitted furniture, Stamp Duty and solicitors’ costs (maximum £1500 incl. VAT).
The competition has seen strong ticket sales and with the odds of winning at one in 100,000 (for every one ticket bought), figures have shown an interesting trend of parents purchasing the tickets as early Christmas gifts for their children.
